मन पंछी , मन बावरा |

मन  पंछी , मन बावरा 

उड़े नील आकाश

ठोर कहीं पावे नहीं

फिर फिर आवे पास |

My innerself flies in blue sky like a bird , get no place to have rest and come back again in myself.

मन भंवरा फू  फू करे

फूल फूल पर जाए 

एक फूल भावे नहीं

सब बगिया मंडराए |

My innerself wishes to enjoy all the luxuries of life , like a honey bee , it sits on all flowers of garden and drinks the nectat of all flowers.

मन  मूरख मैं मैं करे

मैं से बड़ा न कोए

मैं की ही पूजा करे

मैं को तिलक लगाए |

My  stupid innerself has become very arrogant , considers himself as  best , even worships himself ;

मन  तो मेरा एक है

कैसे लाख समाएँ

लाख बराबर एक जो

वो प्रीतम आ  जाए |

My innerself has not much space to accommodate so many beloved , but can accommodate one beloved , who has qualities of so many.

मन  मेरा मन मन हुआ

प्रियतम  से बिछ राए

सेज   बिछाउन रात को

बेदर्दी  न आए |

My innerself  has become very sad , by separating from my beloved , daily waits for the beloved to sleep with him on his bed. But he never turns up.

मन  भूखा भू भू करे

लाख  पूड़ियाँ खाए

भूखे का भूखा रहे

मन  तृष्णा  न जाए  |

My innerself  never gets contentment , it,s hunger for material pleasures is never satisfied.

मन  का भेद न पा सका

पोथी पढ़ी हज़ार

काउ  से नफरत करे 

काउ  से करे प्यार  |

 I am not able to understand the secret of my innerself , even after reading all scriptures and religious books , why it hates someone and why it loves someone.

मन  मेरा न हो सका

संग मेरे दिन रैन

तेरा कैसे हो गया

सोचत हूँ दिन रैन  |

I am reaaly surprised at the behaviour of my innerself , it is with my since beginning , but how and when it became your mistress.

मन मेरा पागल हुआ

नाचे है दिन रैन

प्रियतम के दर्शन हुए

सपने में एक रैन |

i saw the glimpse of my beloved , of my God , in my dreams , since then my innerself is dancing like a mad .

मुझे भटकने का डर नहीं

चलूँ जिस राह भी

घर तेरा है जिस जगह

सब रास्ते जाते वहीँ |
